New Membership

Any questions about eligibility, other than dates, should be referred to Membership Eligibility Questions on the American Legion FAQ site.

Those eligible veterans applying for first time membership must submit the following information to the Post Membership Committee:

1. Complete the American Legion Membership Application.
   
   Print two (2) completed copies.  Keep one copy for your records. Mail the other copy to the above address, together with your dues payment. (Dues amount is on the application; applications are also available at the Post.)
    
2. Provide a copy of your DD214 discharge (with the SSN blacked out).
    
3. Pay the membership dues (amount shown on application). Make checks payable to our Post listed above. DO NOT SEND CASH.
    
4. If the information is correct, membership will be approved and a membership card will be mailed to you.
    
5. Please see eligibility dates below.
    
6. Membership dues payment pays current year dues if they have not been paid; if current year dues have been paid, please pay dues for next year's membership.

Transfers

Those veterans applying for transfers from their current Post to our Post must submit the following:

1. Complete the Membership Renewal section of the American Legion Membership Application.
    
2. Provide a copy of your DD214 discharge (with the SSN blacked out).
    
3. Provide a copy of your current membership card.
    
4. Membership dues payment pays current year dues if they have not been paid; if current year dues have been paid, please pay dues for next year's membership.

ELIGIBILITY DATES

• World War I -- April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918
• World War II -- December 7, 1941 to Present*

* If currently serving on active duty today, you are eligible.
